Azopyram C is a reagent for quality control of pre-sterilization cleaning of medical devices.
Azopyram C is a reagent for quality control of pre-sterilization cleaning of medical devices.
Method of preparation: Preparation of the working reagent: just before work mix equal volume quantities of solutions of Azopyram-C and 3% hydrogen peroxide. Term of use of the working reagent - 2 hours after preparation.
Reagent composition: amidopyrine, aniline hydrochloride, hydroxylamine hydrochloride, ethyl alcohol.
This reagent is a prerequisite for working with medical devices. Without its use it is impossible to be sure of the quality of their processing.
Storage of Azopyram-C
The kit should be stored at a temperature of 18-250C in a dark place in the packaging of the manufacturer during the entire shelf life (2 years).
The kit is used to detect hidden traces of blood that may remain on medical devices prepared for sterilization as a result of insufficiently thorough pre-sterilization cleaning. According to (Annex 2. SanPiN #0342-17) sterilization should be subjected to products in contact with the wound surface, in contact with blood or injectables, and certain types of medical instruments, which in the process of operation come into contact with mucous membranes and may cause damage to them.
The set is designed for 500-1000 operations depending on the type of medical instrument.
The working solution (Azopyram-C and 3% hydrogen peroxide in equal amounts are mixed before use) is used to treat the materials under study: wipe various surfaces with a swab moistened with the reagent, fill syringes, other hollow objects, etc. with the solution.
In the presence of traces of blood immediately or after one minute at the latest, a staining appears, at first usually violet-blue, quickly changing to lilac-purple or brownish. The reagent detects the presence of hemoglobin, plant peroxidases, strong oxidizing agents (chloramine, bleach, chromium mixture for dishwashing, washing powder with bleach, etc.), as well as rust and acids.

Features of the response
Staining occurring later than one minute after treatment of the test items is not counted.
The materials to be tested for purity must be at room temperature. Do not handle hot objects or keep the solution in bright sunlight or at elevated temperatures (near heating devices, etc.)
The working solution (azopyram and 3% hydrogen peroxide) should be used within 1-2 hours. By the end of the first hour after its preparation, spontaneous violet staining may appear.
